House Party !! Keg Party!!
Last weekend we played a birthday house party for Tristan the bassist of the band Girls On The Beach! Such a fun party! I haven’t played a house party since forever and we were all really looking forward to it! What a blast! And a super lineup that included Wet Nurse, Girls On The Beach, us, Permanent Makeup, Tam Tam and a band called The Austin Brothers (not sure if that is their name…i think it is) ! This was such a well organized house party! They had wrist bands, Id’ing, and a room with a server just for the KEGS!! This was a fantastic birthday party! The night opened up with The Austin Brothers playing lotsa White Stripes covers and Modest Mouse. Which was really cool! Then up next was Permanent Makeup. I really loved this band. They had kind of a Dead Kennedy’s kinda vibe! A little political from what I could hear. Don’t mind that at all! It was cool! Next up was Girls On The Beach, which everyone went bat sh*t over! With good reason! They were fantastic! At this point the keg line ran out of beer and I thought there might be a beer riot > “we told you already there’s no beer! Look at the sign!” that’s what they said behind the beer counter! Suddenly a huge line formed and then there was more beer like 2 minutes after I walked away. And I had to wait in a really long line to fill my cup. So funny! Next up we played. Then, Wet Nurse really rocked the house, as to be expected. Best harmonies ever! Last was Tam Tam, which was really cool! Everyone was so drunk at this point! There was some crazy dancing! That’s about it! Great night in Orlando!

Pinch me!
Last night we played at Green Room with The Cost! So much fun & I was DJ’ing some 60’s stuff & some cool, new stuff! We love hanging out with The Cost! Last night was a little crazy. Some girl pinched Skyler’s butt! It was really funny! Tonight we’re getting ready to head out to Orlando to play Tristan’s B-Day party!
Anyway, here are the pics:

The Cost!

This girl requested Five For Fighting or something! I was like , “I don’t have that!”
so funny!

La La La La Lips
Last weekend we opened up for The Black Lips! They are an awesome garage band from Atlanta! If you don’t know who they are > you should check them out. The show was at Grand Central in the Wynwood District in Miami, FL. The Black Lips were really nice, sweet guys. They invited us out afterward to Corner bar but we were so hungry that we went to Denny’s and it took soooooo long to get our food. I can only eat french fries there since I’m vegan, and that took like an hour! At least! It was about 4:30-ish when we finally got our food. The Denny’s on 36th Street downtown is really full of wacky, drunk people at that hour. It was an interesting meal! Anyway, here are pics from the show!

Found these photos of us!

The Black Lips were fantastic live! Everyone was going crazy!

Beach Day | Walking On The Streets
Some classic 50s nostalgia pop, here. It’s the kind of song that would have ended up topping end of the year polls in 2006, had it been released at the time. A dated sound, in more ways than one. But that doesn’t make it any less irresistible. Fingers crossed it kickstarts another revival. Suitable for ears filled with sand, having lied down on the seaside for too long. Based in Hollywood, Florida (the place is often named Hollywouldn’t), the band’s ‘Walking On The Streets Track’ blends sugar-coated female vocals with what sound like sleigh bells. Nothing but enamouring.
Tell ME about the PIZZA!
Tell Me About The Pizza!!
We went on a little trip to Holiday, FL outside of Tampa to play a gig at Orbit 19 Lounge on March 9th. It was a crazy night there as per usual! The lineup was us, Girls On The Beach from Orlando and Paleo Eskimo from West Palm Beach! We got there late because we got caught in traffic when we left. So we didn’t get to see Girls On The Beach. But they were really cool dudes and we can’t wait to play with them again! Paleo Eskimo were fantastic. I love guitar harmonies. That is one of my favorite things. And they had plenty of them! We can’t wait to book a show with them again. Our good friend Jordan came with us and she took some footage of us when we played. The sound is not so great because you can’t hear the vocals hardly at all, but you can hear a guitar solo okay! The video is in the post below! Anyway, hope you likey!

Los Angeles Part Two
Here’s the rest of the pics from our trip!

Coffeeeeeeee!! Bon Jour Cafe!

Stefan the fantastic!

Inside the echo chamber! We’re proud to say there is no digital, computer generated reverb on our recordings! All of the reverb and delays are natural..

Listening to the mixes when we were all finished

This ring was on the table outside at a restaurant we went to

At Burger records setting up for the show with Fawn Spots and White Murder

This is Fawn Spots. They are from the UK and were pretty cool guys! I was surprised when the singer came out of the back in a tiger outfit. Totally unexpected!

This massage place is right next door to Burger! We had to take a few pics there

The Supreme’s star on the Walk Of Fame ! We went to do one touristy thing while we were there! Hollywood is crazy! Me & Nat went into a bathroom and there were two girls having drugged out sex in a stall so loud ! And there were like 20 ladies (tourists) waiting to go to the bathroom! And I also got attacked by Spongebob Squarepants! It was a crazy, fun trip! We can’t wait to go back!
Los Angeles Part One
So we went got back from Los Angeles about a week ago! We went out there to record some songs at a great studio called Ultrasound with a friend of mine Gregg. He produced two songs for us. Can’t wait for you all to hear them! We also played a show at Burger Records in Fullerton, CA, which is near Long Beach. We went to see our friend Laena’s band Raw Geronimo at a place called Speakeasy in Long Beach! Most of our time was spent in the studio so we didn’t get a chance to get out and do too much. Here are a bunch of snapshots from our trip! There were so many good ones I’ve made this blog post a two parter. So stay tuned…
